These high-quality colour lithographs from the ‘The Vegetable Garden’  (‘Die Gemusegarten’)  are 49 x 36 cm. and available mounted or mounted and framed.  These are from a boxed set of 46 prints – the ‘Album Vilmorin’ , so we only have one of each print available.  The prints cost £25 each (mounted) and from £65 framed.  I will have a sample of these prints mounted and framed in our studio, but you would be welcome to come and choose your own frame and mount.

“Between 1850 and 1895 a series of large-format botanical plates, most of them issued at annual intervals, was published by the Lemercier printers in Paris.  The subjects of these plates were not – as one might automatically assume – attractive flowers and the latest ornamentals, as found in numerous other publications from this same epoch, but economic plants as cultivated in kitchen gardens and on a commercial scale, and ranging from beets, potatoes and cauliflower, right up to muskmelon and strawberries. The original copies from which these prints were made belong to the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle, Paris.”

We also have a selection of limited edition prints of images by Eric Ravilious and Paul Nash available for sale. These are priced at £220 unframed, £300 framed.
